Julie Avins is an experienced human resources executive who has successfully led improvements in employee relations, dispute resolution, policy development, compliance, and global company initiatives.

Julie’s 30+ years as a corporate executive included supporting employment litigators as a subject matter expert in wrongful termination, wage and hour, discrimination, sexual harassment, and violence prevention and risk assessment, and she has repeatedly been called upon to testify in civil court, mediations, and arbitrations.

Julie is a skilled investigator and has conducted and overseen hundreds of complex investigations in both her corporate roles and as an independent consultant.

Julie’s core competencies are complex investigations, conflict resolution, policy clarification, change management, problem-solving, labor consulting, and arbitration. In addition, she is proficient in employment law and compliance.

Julie served as the Vice President of Associate Relations - National Strategies at Macy’s Corporate Services, where she was a strategic and tactical member of the corporate leadership team. Additionally, she directed the Human Resources Policy team, where she developed policies and created competitive practices to support the organization’s business needs-- allowing employees to thrive at work. 

Julie has continued to support clients in the public and private sector through her consulting work.

Julie earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.
